Last week, students at Sexey's School had the incredible opportunity to attend a live performance and talk from The Entitled Sons, an upcoming local band known not only for their music but also for their advocacy on mental health and wellbeing.
St Bartholomew's C of E Primary and Ashlands C of E Primary schools took part in the Primary Festival of Dance at the Westlands Entertainment Venue. Organized by Keri Hill Dance, this event has been a successful platform for showcasing the incredible efforts and achievements of local primary schools.
World Book Day 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the various schools within out Trust, each showcasing their unique approach to fostering a love for reading. From creative costumes and engaging activities to book-themed competitions and reading sessions, students and staff alike embraced the joy of literature. This accolade highlights the school's unwavering commitment to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for its students.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Clayson as our new Headteacher. Steve, who brings over 27 years of experience in education, has officially begun his role at the school this term.
Boarding students at Sexey's School, Bruton, have been learning new ‘green’ skills thanks to Somerset Council and its waste collections contractor SUEZ recycling and recovery UK.

This accolade places Haygrove within the top 25% of secondary schools nationally, a testament to the School's and Trust's commitment to providing a supportive and enriching educational environment for all its students.
We were delighted to welcome Minister Morgan, the Minister of Early Education, to Haygrove School, part of the Quantock Education Trust. During his visit, we discussed the closure of our main building and the rebuild project. This was a fantastic opportunity to highlight our commitment to excellence in education, despite the challenges we face.
Sexey’s School, part of the Quantock Education Trust are delighted to announce that they have been awarded the esteemed School of Character Quality Mark by The Association for Character Education (ACE). This award is a testament to the significant dedication and commitment demonstrated by the staff, pupils, and the entire school community in meeting the high standards of character education represented by this accolade.
Following a recent Ofsted inspection, Sexey’s School in Bruton, part of the Quantock Education Trust, are delighted to again be awarded a ‘Good’ rating for its boarding provision.
The glowing report reaffirms the school’s social care grading of ‘Good’ and takes into account how well children and young people are helped and protected as well as the effectiveness of leaders and managers. The key findings identified a focus on creating an environment which provides care, nurture and support to boarders and the commitment by all staff to ensure that students feel safe.
Congratulations to all of our students collecting their GCSE results today. There certainly were many reasons to celebrate.
