Chaplaincy Placement Student (Undergraduate Placement)
If you have a determination to be exceptional in all that you do and have an unrelenting commitment to making a difference to young people’s lives we would love to hear from you!
We are seeking a Chaplain placement student to work within our thriving school community, as part of a formation programme supported by the Diocese of Bath & Wells. This placement provides the opportunity to be embedded in the pastoral and spiritual life of a school, while undertaking structured theological reflection and vocational development.
As a Chaplaincy Placement Student, you will:
- Be a visible pastoral presence within the school community
- Support acts of worship and spiritual life
- Engage with pupils of all faiths and none
- Assist in chaplaincy initiatives (which may include sport, arts, music, boarding life, or outreach)
- Participate in reflective supervision and a training programme alongside other placement students to support you in your formation.
You will remain registered as a full-time student with your university for the duration of the placement year (the Student Loans Company have confirmed that, as these are placements in a care setting, students will be able to apply for full maintenance support for the duration of the year).
This role may be ideal for a candidate who is looking to develop a career in education or experience the rewards of working with young people. If you think you possess the qualities and experience we are looking for, we would very much like to hear from you
- Full accommodation and board (meals provided during term time)
- Fixed term placement from Sept 2026 - July 2027, 33 hours per week.
- Required from September 2026
- This is a voluntary, unpaid placement opportunity
