Sexey’s School GCSE Results 2025: Celebrating Excellence and Purpose

Today we celebrate another set of impressive GCSE results achieved by our students. Their hard work, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to learning have led to well-deserved success, and we are immensely proud of all they have achieved.

As an academically ambitious school, we value the pursuit of knowledge and the discipline it requires, while recognising that true education goes beyond results alone. It is about developing creative, curious thinkers who contribute thoughtfully to society.

Many of our students will now continue into Sexey’s Sixth Form to pursue A Level and vocational courses, while others will follow pathways that reflect their aspirations and strengths. Each journey is valued, and we are confident they will continue to build on these strong foundations with the adaptability needed to thrive in a changing world.

Headteacher Steve Clayson said, “These excellent results reflect the hard work of our students and the dedication of our staff. We are excited to see many students returning to Sexey’s Sixth Form in September, and we wish those moving on to new post-16 providers every success and happiness.”

The school has continued to exceed national benchmarks, with 77% of students achieving a grade 4+ compared to the national average of 67%.

We are proud of the consistently strong results across our GCSE subjects, including:

  • GCSE Biology: 82% Grade 9-5 | 47% Grade 9-7
  • GCSE Physics: 76% Grade 9-5 | 47% Grade 9-7
  • GCSE Religious Studies: 75% Grade 9-5 | 50% Grade 9-7

This year the top performing students are:

  • Verity P-P who achieved six 9’s and three 8’s
  • Amelia M who achieved six 9’s, one 8, one 7 and one 5

Chrysta Garnett, CEO of the Quantock Education Trust, said:

“Well done to the Year 11s collecting their results today. They should be very proud of these outcomes, which will set them up well for their next steps. Thank you to Steve Clayson and his staff for creating such an inspiring and supportive learning environment. It is wonderful to see so many students continuing their education at Sexey’s Sixth Form.”

We thank our dedicated staff and supportive families for playing a vital role in guiding our students to this moment.

To our students: we are proud of your achievements and look forward to seeing all you will accomplish as you move into the next stage of your learning journey.
