With budgets stretched and SEND needs increasing, improving provision can sometimes feel as though it comes with an impossible price tag. But some of the most powerful changes we can make for children and young people don't cost very much at all.
In this practical session, Lynn will explore how schools can strengthen SEND and inclusive practice by making better use of what they already have. We'll look at realistic adaptive teaching approaches, simple and low-cost interventions, reducing reliance on resource-heavy individual support, and the everyday classroom changes that can make learning more accessible. Lynn will also look beyond interventions to the things that cost little or nothing but can have a significant impact: creating a genuine sense of belonging, strengthening relationships, understanding behaviour in context, developing inclusive school cultures and ensuring SEND really is everyone's responsibility.

QET Primary English Network
Set up in March 2025 and led by Tammy Court (English Lead at St Bartholomew’s), this is the first subject network to be established for leaders of literacy and English. The aim is to provide peer support to colleagues performing similar roles across QET schools. The sharing of evidence-informed approaches and high-quality teaching resources will be central to the group’s work, whilst also aiming to improve alignment across primary schools.
QET SENCo Network
Led by Malcolm Reeve (National Leader of SEND), members of our SENCo Network meet termly to review the latest policy and guidance updates, to review school-based practice and share expertise with each other.
QET DSL Network
Led by Gary Sanders (QET’s Strategic Safeguarding Consultant) this group meets termly to review safeguarding processes, share thinking around case studies and provide informal peer to peer support to other DSL colleagues in the network. This is supplemented by supervision which is also provided to DSLs.
QET PA Network
Led by Kelly Broome (Executive Assistant, QET Central Team), this is a supportive and collaborative group that brings together the personal assistants and office staff from each of our schools. Meeting monthly, this network provides a valuable space for sharing best practices, discussing challenges, and offering peer support. It ensures that administrative staff across the Trust remain well-connected, informed, and equipped to handle the dynamic needs of their roles. By fostering communication and collaboration, the network strengthens the efficiency of school offices and enhances the overall support provided to leadership teams, ultimately contributing to the smooth running of our schools.
