We are looking for a compassionate and approachable volunteer Independent Listener to join our boarding community and provide a trusted, independent point of contact for our students.

The Independent Listener is someone outside the school community who boarding students can approach directly if they have a problem, concern or simply need someone to talk to. This is a rewarding voluntary opportunity to make a genuine difference to the wellbeing and experience of young people by offering a safe and supportive space.

We are seeking someone with an excellent understanding of safeguarding, empathy for the needs of school-age children and adolescents, and experience in a counselling, pastoral or similar supportive role.

Our boarding students are a real delight to work with. They are articulate, hardworking and well-motivated, and demonstrate our seven core values in the way they treat one another. We pride ourselves on our positive staff/student relationships and our strong sense of community.
