Our new Strategic Lead for Inclusion - Dani Thompson

The Quantock Education Trust is delighted to welcome Dani Thompson as the Trust’s Strategic Lead for SEND and Inclusion. Dani brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and vision to this position, which she will hold alongside her role at Haygrove School. With an established commitment to inclusive education and a deep understanding of the SEND landscape, she is exceptionally well placed to support and influence Trust-wide strategic development.
Dani joined Haygrove many years ago and stepped into the SENCO role in 2023, marking a significant point in her professional journey. Since then, she has worked closely with national leaders in education to transform the school’s approach to supporting pupils with SEND. Her involvement with Whole School SEND and other national projects has strengthened her expertise in developing and championing inclusive practice. Dani’s leadership has already contributed to meaningful change within her setting, and she is passionate about ensuring that every pupil experiences success, belonging, and high-quality support.
In her role as Strategic Lead for Inclusion, Dani will provide specialist insight and strategic oversight to enhance SEND provision across the Trust. She will play a pivotal part in shaping Trust-wide direction, contributing to the development of our Inclusion Strategy, and supporting schools to embed consistent, effective systems and inclusive pedagogies. Through coaching and capacity-building with SENCOs, Dani will continue to develop her own leadership strengths while empowering colleagues across all schools.
Dani’s commitment to inclusion is rooted in her belief that the national landscape—and our own Trust’s improvement journey—places belonging and equitable access at the heart of excellent education. She is energised by the opportunity to contribute to this shared mission, ensuring that the Trust remains at the forefront of best practice as we move forward together.
