Chaplaincy Placement Student (Undergraduate Placement)

We are seeking a Chaplain placement student to work within our thriving school community, as part of a formation programme supported by the Diocese of Bath & Wells. This placement provides the opportunity to be embedded in the pastoral and spiritual life of a school, while undertaking structured theological reflection and vocational development.
As a Chaplaincy Placement Student, you will:
- Be a visible pastoral presence within the school community
- Support acts of worship and spiritual life
- Engage with pupils of all faiths and none
- Assist in chaplaincy initiatives (which may include sport, arts, music, boarding life, or outreach)
- Participate in reflective supervision and a training programme alongside other placement students to support you in your formation.
You will remain registered as a full-time student with your university for the duration of the placement year (the Student Loans Company have confirmed that, as these are placements in a care setting, students will be able to apply for full maintenance support for the duration of the year).

- Full accommodation and board (meals provided during term time)
- Fixed term placement from Sept 2026 - July 2027, 33 hours per week.
- Required from September 2026
- This is a voluntary, unpaid placement opportunity
Safeguarding
This role involves working with children and young people. Appointment will be subject to enhanced safeguarding checks and training.
Additional Information
There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) that the holder of this post is a practising Christian in good standing and a member of a Member Church of Churches Together in England/Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTE/CTBI). This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
