Spaxton’s report is very positive about the recent changes at the school highlighting the transformation the new Headteacher Mrs Rood has overseen during her leadership. It also identifies the exciting opportunities arising from the new partnership the school has successfully developed with Stogursey C of E Primary School, also part of QET. The central focus at all times being what is best for the children at the school and their families.   

The inspection team said, “The formation of the MAT three years ago and the appointment of the new headteacher, has had a transformational impact on the life of the school. Leaders and staff have the highest aspiration for their pupils, based on their vision.”  

Headteacher, Rachel Rood, is delighted with the report. She says, “Reading this report has been a celebration for our staff. We have worked very hard over the past few years to continuously improve our practice and support our children to flourish and achieve. That is our school vision and is at the heart of every decision we make. I couldn’t be more proud of my colleagues and every member of the Spaxton’s school community.”  

During the inspection at Sexey’s School, the inspector highlighted many strengths of the school including the focus on community and wellbeing, saying “Leaders prioritise the wellbeing of the whole community. This is due to their commitment to the ‘fullness of life’ as expressed in the Christian vision. Pupils, staff and parents attest to wellbeing as a demonstrable feature of the school. The pastoral support in the school is skilled, swift to respond and is centered on the welfare of the whole person.” and also, “Sexey’s School’s vision is inspiring a cohesive community in which pupils and adults are at ease yet also challenged to be the best they can be.” 

Headteacher Helen Cullen, was pleased with the inspection outcome. She says, “I am delighted with the highly positive nature of this report. Hearing the Inspector’s feedback, made me feel so proud of the whole Sexey’s staff and community. He celebrated a huge number of strengths in his feedback including the school community living the core values, our response to the pandemic, extracurricular opportunities and the overall quality of teaching and learning.”.
