Welcoming St Bartholomew's C of E Primary School

Quantock Education Trust (QET) is delighted to welcome St Bartholomew's C of E Primary School on Wednesday 1st May 2024, with Merriott Primary School, Haselbury Plucknett Church of England Primary School and Ashlands C Of E Primary School also joining shortly.

The Quantock Education Trust currently comprises of Haygrove School, Sexey’s School, Spaxton C of E Primary School and Stogursey C of E Primary School. These new primary schools joining the Trust are all based in Crewkerne and will create a South Somerset 'QET Hub'.

Chrysta Garnett, CEO of the QET, says, “This is a very exciting step for our growing Trust and I am delighted that St Bartholomew’s are joining us officially as our fifth school. We are united by our joint vision and values which prioritise the life opportunities for all our children, their achievements, their wellbeing and character. I am so thankful for our excellent staff team who will now have even more opportunities to meaningfully collaborate with new colleagues across our Trust schools.

Gemma Coward, Headteacher at St Bartholomew's C of E Primary School, says, “We are delighted to be joining the Quantock Education Trust. I am confident that their values and commitment to school development will be hugely beneficial for our school. At St Bartholomew's we aim to develop a lifelong love of learning from our nurturing environment offering a full, broad curriculum including a wide range of extracurricular activities. We are excited to see where this journey takes us and the future of the school.”

Rob Brown, Chair of the QET, says, “I am proud of our growing Trust as we welcome St Bartholomew’s, as well as the other schools shortly. We understand the importance of this opportunity to support and further develop these schools. A growing Trust will bring more shared expertise and experience, and this can only be positive for Somerset children and their education.”
